Shipping Driver
Job Summary: Makes pick ups and deliveries of product and material to and from our company and our vendors using trucks.
Duties:
·Satisfies the needs of the daily driver's list concerning pick-ups and deliveries.
·Services the SPA with urgent daily needs.
·Fills out and maintains proper D.O.T. paperwork to meet federal regulations.
·Loads trucks and wraps product as necessary.
·Performs other tasks relating to shipping as necessary.
Responsibilities:
·Communicates effectively with all internal and external customers, especially the traffic coordinator.
·Is an extension of customer service.
·Wraps and loads product accurately and with safety in mind.
·Helps manage the driving time and routes to assure maximum output.
Specifications:
·Appropriate level of CDL license
·Safe driving record.
·Meets D.O.T. regulations.
·Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
·Good problem solving skills
·Ability to learn routes.
·High school diploma or equivalent.
Job Relationships:
·Reports to shipping supervisor and takes significant direction from the traffic coordinator.
·Works closely with purchasing, receiving, vendors, and outside carpenters.
Authority:
·Can decide when to change the needs of the driver's list to account for no open dock, lateness of day, or meeting a critical deadline determines such.
·Determines if weather or other conditions adversely affect safety. Has the ability to terminate the trip at any point.
