CNC Programmer

Job Summary: Ensures that the companies CNC router is programmed and all the tooling is purchased and maintained for the company.

Duties:
·Creates accurate G-code programs for the companies CNC router.
·Oversees tooling purchases, new and sharpening.
·Creates detailed part drawings for the operators at the CNC router.
·Makes sure that preventative maintenance is completed on the CNC router.
·Assists in training of team members to meet established standards.
·Other duties which may be assigned on an as-required basis.
·Assists with the engineering of product.

Responsibilities:
·Communicates effectively to internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing.
·Follows procedures in company handbook and other documents.
·Demonstrates a professional attitude when approaching work assignments.
·Displays a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks, on time.
·Assists in developing timely solutions to problems.
·Maintains outstanding attendance.

Specifications:
·Ability to read and interpret complex drawings.
·Possesses good computer skills and is able to learn new skills as needed.
·Able to manage multiple priorities.
·Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time.
·Has knowledge of materials and processes related to the companies manufactured product.
·Must be detailed oriented.
·Ability to read and interpret specifications.
·Must be able to read a dial caliper or equivalent and measure in thousandths (.xxx) of an inch.
·High school diploma or equivalent.
·Vocational degree relating to the wood industry or at least 2 years experience working in the industry.

Job Relationships:
·Reports directly to Drafting/Detailing Supervisor.
·Internally works closely with Manufacturing Supervisor, Team Leaders, and Drafters.
·Externally works with vendors.

Authority:
·Recommends changes needed in department.
·Creates purchase orders for tooling.
