NASFM Contributes to WoodLINKS,
Industry Education Initiative

Hollywood, FL (Aug. 31, 2000)—On Aug. 25, 2000, The National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers (NASFM) presented a $9,500 check to Larry Hilchie, President of WoodLINKS-USA, during a private reception held at IWF. Over the past three years, NASFM has contributed over $75,000 to WoodLINKS and other programs that promote woodworking as a career. Making the presentation was Jack Hale, CEO of T.J. Hale in Menomonee Falls, WI, and chairman of the NASFM WorkForce 2000 Committee.

WoodLINKS has its roots in British Columbia, and in 1999 created WoodLINKS-USA to address specific needs in U.S. schools, including wood industry certification and curriculum. WoodLINKS-USA is currently running pilot programs in five U.S. states. NASFM’s WorkForce 2000 Initiative was created to promote, and direct future workers to the store fixture manufacturing industry.

NASFM is an international, not-for-profit association representing the store fixture manufacturing industry since 1956. The association's membership includes more than 450 regular member companies operating over 800 plants and employing more than 75,000 people worldwide; an additional 200 industry suppliers are associate members. NASFM members manufacture an estimated 85% of all store fixtures produced in North America.
