NADI and NASFM Announce Agreement
New York, NY (May 22, 2001)NADI (National Association of Display Industries) president Dan Evans of Leggett and Platt's MET Fashion and Design Group and NASFM (National Association of Store Fixture Manufacturers) president Richard Ernest of Crown Metal Manufacturing jointly announced a new agreement between the two associations. According to the agreement, NASFM will provide administrative and management services to NADI. The agreement was approved at the NADI Board of Directors' meeting on May 18 in New York.
NADI's Dan Evans explained that NADI had approached NASFM about this agreement because they were impressed with the growth in the number of high quality member services that NASFM has provided in recent years. Evans said: "We believe that with the NASFM staff managing our day-to-day operations our board of directors will be better able to focus our efforts on developing benefits for our members." NASFM president Richard Ernest added, "we've agreed to this arrangement because we hope there can be some real synergies obtained that will benefit the members of NASFM and NADI as well as our customers."
Klein Merriman will assume responsibilities as executive director of NADI in addition to his continuing responsibilities as executive director of NASFM. NADI is a not for profit association representing the Visual Merchandising and retail design industry. The association is comprised of retailers and suppliers dedicated to fostering the growth of the retail industry. Founded in 1942, NADI has always been the industry leader for display, visual merchandising, and retail design. The NADI has an active membership of over 100 and its name and trademark are recognized internationally.
NASFM is an international, not-for-profit association representing the store fixture manufacturing industry since 1956. The association's membership includes more than 450 regular member companies operating over 800 plants and employing more than 75,000 people worldwide; an additional 250 industry suppliers are associate members. NASFM members manufacture an estimated 85% of all store fixtures produced in North America, and the 100 largest North American store fixture manufacturers are NASFM members. The typical NASFM member employs 85 people, and generates revenues in excess of $10 million per year.
